Project: Strengthening the capacity of the judicial system to ensure effective access to justice for children – 2

Amount: 56,396.72 euros for 15 months (January 2026 – March 2027)

The project builds on the results achieved under the previous project “Strengthening the capacity of the judicial system to ensure effective access to justice for children”, implemented with the support of the Lachezar Tsotsorkov Foundation. The National Institute of Justice will work to deepen the multidisciplinary approach in judicial training and ensure child-friendly justice by:

  • Strengthening the capacity of justice sector professionals to implement a child-friendly justice model – conducting specialized multidisciplinary training activities with the participation of judges, prosecutors, investigators, police officers, representatives of institutions and non-governmental organizations that work with children, social workers, psychologists and lawyers, aimed at upgrading the skills and competencies for working with children, improving the interaction and unifying the practice of the various professionals involved in the field, to ensure effective access to justice for children;
  • Strengthening and upgrading the professional community “Justice for Children” of the NIJ as a sustainable platform for information exchange and expert support of the Institute’s overall activities in this area.
